Given : 18% Of the student at a school are in year 8, and 16 % of the students are In year 9,

the school has 126 year 8 students,

To Find : the number of year 9 students

Solution:

Let say Total Students  = 100P

18% Of the student at a school are in year 8

=> (18/100)100P = 18P

school has 126 year 8 students,

=> 18P  = 126

=> P = 7

=> 100P = 700

Hence total Students = 700

16 % of the students are In year 9

number of year 9 students = (16/100)700  = 112

112 Students are in year 9

Step-by-step explanation:

let total students =100x

year 8 students = 18% of 100x

=18/100×100x

=18x

year 9 students = 16% of 100x

= 16/100 ×100x

= 16x

18x=126

x =126/18

x=7

Now,

1x=7

100x=100×7

=700

Again, 18x=18×7

=112 Ans
