Let us assume the volume of the reservoir is 1000 litres.

It is emptied in 24 hours

Therefore the rate of pumping= 1000/24=41.66 litres per hour

The individual pumping rate=41.66/15=2.77 litres per hour per pump

Now

We have 60 pumps

The cumulative pumping capacity= 166.64 litres per house

Therefore the time required to pump out 1000 litres= 6 hours.
