No. of tin boxes=18

length=1m

width(breadth)=85m

depth(height)=60cm=0.6m

area of tin of 1 box=2(lb+bh+hl)-lb or lb+2(bh+hl)

=1 x 85+2(85 x 0.6+0.6 x 1)

=85+2(51+0.6)

=85+2(51.6)

85+103.2=188.2 m sq.

area of 18 tin boxes=188.2 x 18=3387.6 m sq.

=33876000 cm sq.

cost of tin for 1cm sq.= Rs. 0.50

cost of tin for 33876000cm sq.=0.50 x 33876000=Rs.16938000
