So 1 person will do 12/(48*14) i.e.- 1/56 part of the work in 12 days. So clearly we will need 56 people to do the whole work in 12 days. So we end up with x=56.

So we will need 56–48 extra people i.e.- 8 extra people to do the same work in 12 days.
