Kulaks:-
(i) Kulaks were the well to do peasants of Russia.
(ii) The members of the Bolshevik party raided the Kulaks and their goods were seized.
(iii) It was believed that the Kulaks were exploiting the peasants and hoarding grain to earn higher profits and thus leading to grain shortages.
Duma:-
(i) The Duma was an elected Consultative Parliament that was formed on 6th August 1905 under the pressure of Russian revolution with the responsibility of making laws.
(ii) However, the Tsar had the power to dismiss the Duma and announce new elections whenever he wished to do so.
(iii) The first Duma was dissolved within 75 days and the second was elected after three months.
(iv) The Tsar Nicolas II changed voting laws and packed the Duma with conservative politicians. Liberals and revolutionaries were kept out of the Duma.
(v) Even during World War I, the Duma was not consulted. Finally, the Duma was suspended on February 25, 1917.
