The two main contributions of Mendeleev in the periodic classification of elements are:
(1) He gave the first Periodic law and formed a very accurate periodic table based on that.
- We can say that modern periodic table is a modified version of his periodic table.
(2) He predicted the existence of a few elements which were not known at that time and left gaps in his periodic table.
- Later on, those elements were found in nature and with the exactly same properties that Mendeleev predicted.
