1800 boys and 900 girls appeared for an examination.If 42% of the boys and 30% of the girls passed find the number of boys and girls passed and total number of student passed

Total number of boys = 1800
percentage of boys passed = 42%
Number of boys passed = 42/100*1800= 756

Total number of girls = 900
percentage of girls passed = 30%
Number of girls passed= 30/100*900=270

Total number of students passed= No. of boys passed+ No. of girls passed
= 756+270
=1026

So 1800 boys
42% passed
So passed boys= 42% of 1800
So the passed boys are 42×18= 756

900 girls
30% passed
So passed girls = 30% of 900
So the passed girls are 30×9=270

So passed total students 270+756= 1026
out of 2700 students
