Let the one part be x and the other part be 184 - x
So, according to the question.
x/3 = (184 - x)/7 +8
x/3 = (184 - x + 56)/7
7x = 552 - 3x + 168
7x + 3x = 720
10x = 720
x = 72
Smaller part is 72
and the greater part is 184 - 72 = 112
