18th century
The century saw some of the most influential players of the sport like Richard Newland, John Smell, Thomas Brett, Edward Stevens(nicknamed as "Lumpy") .
19th century
County Championship commenced offically in 1890 in England followed by The Currie Cup (South Africa) in 1889-90 and The Sheffield Shield (Australia). The period between 1890 and the outbreak of the First World War was considered a “Golden Age of cricket”. Some of the prominent cricketers were Wilfred Rhodes, Grace, Victor Trumper,C. B. Fry, and Ranjitsinhji.
20th century.
ICC which was known as the Imperial Cricket Conference was established in 1909. Initially there were only three members namely England, Australia and South Africa. In coming years new members were added like West Indies , New Zealand ,India and Pakistan . Some of the prominent players were Douglas Jardine, Don Bradman,Sir Garfield Sobers.
21st century.
