Given :

BoxA : 21cm ×21cm×21cm

BoxB : 16cm× 32cm×8cm

To find :

Which box requires the lesser amount of material to make and by how much?

Solution :

(A),side = 50 cm

Volume of cube box (b) = (side )

= 21 x 21 x 21

= 9261 cm³

= 0.9261 m³

For (B), I = 16 cm, b= 32 cm, h = 8 cm

Volume of cuboid box (a) = l x b x h

= 16 x 32 x 8

= 4096 cm³

= 0.4096 m³

=> cuboidal box (b) requires lesser amount of material to make.
