19. A piece of wire is of length 12 3/4m. If it is cut into two pieces in such a way that the length of one piece in 5 1/4m, what is the length of other piece?

\huge{\mathfrak{\purple{Answer}}}

Total length of wire=12 3/4 m i.e. 51/4m

Length of one piece of wire=5 1/4 m i.e.21/4m

Length of other piece of wire= Total length of wire - Length of one piece of wire=> 51/4 - 21/4

=> 30/4m

Hence, length of other piece of wire is 30/4 m.

hope it helps you!

Understanding first

◇There is a piece of wire Of some given Length which is cut off into two pieces ,such that one piece is of some Length then

find the other.

Given

 \bull \sf a \:total \:  piece \: of \: wire \: is \: given \: of \: some \: length \:  \bf \: : \: \rightarrow \:  12\dfrac{3}{4}m \: ↦ \dfrac{51}{4} m

 \bull \sf \: if \: one \: piece \:  \bf \: : \rightarrow \: 5 \dfrac{1}{4} m↦ \dfrac{21}{4} m

Find

  • The Length if the other piece

Solution

We have to subtract,

The another piece of the wire [The Total Length Of the Wire - The Length Of One piece of the Wire]

☞︎︎︎Let's Find it out

 \sf \: The \:  another \:  piece \:  of \:  the \:  wire =  \dfrac{51}{4} m \:  -  \:  \dfrac{21}{4}m \:  ↦ \dfrac{30}{4}m

 \sf \bf \therefore  \: we \: get \: that \: the  \: measure \: of \: another \: side \: is \:  \dfrac{30}{4}m

Not sure about the answer Let's Verify it :

When we substrated the original length of the Wire - The one side of the wire we got the other side so, now if we add the two sides we should get the original length of the wire

So, let's see

  \sf \dfrac{30}{4} m +  \dfrac{21}{4} m↦ \dfrac{51}{4}m \:  \therefore  \sf \:  \: hence \: verified†
