The primitive men were HUNTER  - GATHERERS to start. They used to wander in search of food and facilities.

During the Mesolithic period (dated 12,000 - 10,000 yrs ago), lots of environmental changes took place. This led to the development of grasslands, which led to an increase in the number of animals.

The people starting herding these animals and became Herders.

At the same time, grains of Wheat and Barley grew naturally and people further started growing them on their own.

Hence, they became Farmers.
