The relation and difference between Symbolic logic and classical logic are as follows:
- "Classical logic" deals with the forms and classifications of different hypotheses. Whereas, "symbolic logic" is the study of abstractions that capture the ritualistic features of logical inference based upon certain symbols. Symbolic logic is often divided into two: propositional logic and predicate logic.
- Modern logic is also called symbolic logic because symbols replaced words to a great extent.
- Modern logic differs to a certain range of degrees from classical logic.
- Modern logic is anti-traditional which is just the opposite of classical logic.
- Classical logic consists of formal and informal language, whereas modern or symbolic logic has incorporated mathematical terms with it. This is the reason why modern logic is also known as mathematical logic.
