Given :  10 pair of distinct observations d² = 33

To Find :  value of rank correlation coefficient

0.4

0.8

0.2

0.6

Solution:

rank correlation coefficient    = 1   - 6  ∑ (di)² / (n(n² - 1))

n = 10

∑ (di)²  =  33

rank correlation coefficient  =  ?

 = 1   - 6  ∑ (di)² / (n(n² - 1))

= 1  -6  * 33 / (10(10² - 1))

=  1 -   198/990

=  (990 - 198)/990

=  792/990

= 0.8

0.8 is the value of rank correlation coefficient
