1)As the intermolecular gap between the particles of gas is too large so it occupies the volume of container in which it is kept.
2)as the gas particles are in random motion always so due to this they collide with another gas particles as a result they also collide through walls of the container.
3)As inter molecular gap is too small they are rigid they have fixed volume and these are the properties of solid.

Because in the wooden table particles are closely packed and have less space in between particles.
