between the first and the last sapling.

According to the question,

Sanaya planted 4 saplings.

Such that,

Sapling A, Sapling B, Sapling C & Sapling D ,

within a row.

The distance between two adjacent saplings is 3 m.

So,

• Distance between sapling A & B = 3m

• Distance between sapling B & C = 3m

• Distance between sapling C & D = 3m

We have to find, Distance between sapling A & D .

The distance between A&D = (A&B) + (B&C) + (C&D)

➝ 3 + 3 + 3

➝ 9m

The distance between A&D is 9m.

Hence, the distance between the first and the last sapling is 9 m.
