  • This can be verified using Gauss's law.
  • Take a spherical gaussian surface of any radius less than the radius of the cavity which is concentric.
  • The electric flux at this gaussian surface will be equal to the charge enclosed within the surface divided by epsilon.
  • Since, charge enclosed is zero, the flux is zero and so is the electric field.
