Step-by-step explanation:
Area of first crossroad which is rectangular =l ×b
Hence area = 72m x 2m= 144 m^2
Area of 2nd crossroad which is rectangular = 48mx 2m
= 96 m^2
Area of middle part which is square
=2mx2m
= 4m^2
Area of crossroads= (144+96) m^2- 4m^2
=240 m^2 - 4 m²= 236 m^2
