19. Two crossroads is of 2 m wide run at right angle through the centre of a rectangular park of 72 m by 48 m such that it is parallel to one of the sides of the rectangle. Find the area of remaining portion of park​

Area of first crossroad which is rectangular =l ×b

Hence area = 72m x 2m= 144 m^2

Area of 2nd crossroad which is rectangular = 48mx 2m

= 96 m^2

Area of middle part which is square

=2mx2m

= 4m^2

Area of crossroads= (144+96) m^2- 4m^2

=240 m^2 - 4 m²= 236 m^2
