(197)^2 = (200 - 3 )^2 .
Using identity (a + b )^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab.
It becomes => (200)^2 + (3)^2 - 2 × 200 × 3 = 40000 + 9 - 1200 = 38809. Hope you understood my answer.
