i))) Arithmetic Logic Unit

CPU के भीतर सभी arithmetic और logical operations को करने के लिए ALU जिम्मेदार है. CPU द्वारा किये जाने वाली सभी calculations जैसे – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division और comparison इन सभी प्रक्रियाओं की processing करने का काम arithmetic logic unit का होता है. इसे CPU का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग माना जाता है.

ii))) Control Unit

CU, भी CPU का एक प्रमुख घटक है. ये कंप्यूटर में घटित होने वाले सभी operations को control और direct करने का काम करता है. आसान भाषा मे आपके द्वारा input किये गए instructions या data को computer system की दूसरी unit तक transfer करने का काम control unit का होता है.

iii))) Registers या Memory Unit

Registers या Memory Unitमेमोरी यूनिट CPU की temporary storage है, जहां processing के लिए आये data या निर्देशो को store किया जाता है. ये information को bits की form में रखता है. CPU में ये रजिस्टर अलग – अलग capacity के होते है. जैसे – 2-bit register, 4-bit register या 8-bit register etc. इसी memory unit में रखे डेटा को control unit प्रोसेसिंग के लिए ALU तक ले जाता है.ये मेमोरी एक कंप्यूटर मेमोरी नही होती है, बल्कि इसे CPU की local storage कहा जाता है, जो process किये जा रहे data को hold करके रखती है.

iv))) Processor और memory के बीच डेटा को ले जाने के लिए इन system buses का उपयोग होता है. ये cable और connectors से बना एक pathway है. computer system के विभिन्न घटकों के बीच data और control signals का आदान – प्रदान हो सके इसके लिए ये buses एक communication path के रूप में कार्य करती है.
