Mr. Thomas Marvel is a tramp.... he's homeless, wears tattered clothing, and is for the most part.... lazy. In Chapter Nine, Marvel is sitting on the roadside when he hears a voice. The voice, of course, is not accompanied by a physical appearance, and Marvel believes himself to be drunk... or to be crazy. Thus, the Invisible Man throws stones at Marvel in order to prove his presence, after which, he provides Marvel with something to eat.
