Lord Macaulay submitted his recommendation Macaulay minute on Indian Education.

In his recommendation , he criticized the Orientalists and passionately emphasized the need to teach English language. He felt that knowledge of English language would make the Indians aware of the developments in the Western literature, science and philosophy.

✔️On the basis of his recommendation , English Education Act was passed in 1835, which made English as the medium of instruction for higher education.
