median for x:-

n=5

n is an odd no. so make it even we have to add 1 in it

therefore, n=5+1=6

and, median = (n/2) [ for even nos.]

median = (n+1/2) [ for odd nos.]

we had made the n as even so we use(n/2)

so here, median= (6/2)

hence we got that median for x is 3.

now, median for f :-

n=5

and we had discussed two formulas of median above, so we use now formula for odd to understand this formula also.

so, median= (n+1/2) [ for odd nos.]

= (5+1/2) [ n is 5]

= (6/2)

= 3

so we get the median for f, i.e., 3.
