Hey,
Since the roots are 1/2 , -1/2.

So, x=1/2 or x= -1/2.
So, the quadratic equation formed will be as follows,

(x-1/2)(x+1/2)
=x(x+1/2)-1/2(x+1/2)
=x^2+x/2-x/2-1/4
+x/2 and -x/2 is cancelled,
So, the required answer is,
x^2-1/4.
