Let the distance of office from home be x then,

x = vt                  ------- (1)

Now he has reduced the speed by 20%, so new speed = v - 20v/100 = 4v/5

or, x = 4vt₁/5       -------(2)

From, 1 and 2

vt = 4vt₁/5

or, t = 4t₁/5

or, t₁ = 5t/4

Also, t₁ - t = 16 minutes

or, 5t/4 -t = 16

or, t = 64 minutes
