a. Bacteriophage b. Drosophila
c. Frog eggs
c. Streptococci
Answers
Answer:
okkkkkkkkkk
Explanation:
Griffith used two strains of pneumococcus (Streptococcus pneumoniae) bacteria which infect mice – a type III-S (smooth) which was virulent, and a type II-R (rough) strain which was nonvirulent.
Answer
c. streptococci
(a bacteria )
More about experiment
Frederick Griffith a very famous scientist performed an experiment on the the mouse.
He used streptococcus pneumoniae for this purpose. This experiment was basically done in order to show that DNA is the genetic material in bacteria.
He ended up in discovering the transforming principle.
Observations
∆ He found that S strain bacteria that he used was virulent but R strain bacteria did not cause any infection in the mouse.
∆ When heat killed S strain bacteria was injected in the mice it did not kill them.
∆But when he combined the heat killed S strain bacteria and living R strain bacteria mice die.
∆ This marks the basis of discovery of the transforming principle.
Extra points
- This experiment was conducted in 1928.
- S strain bacteria has virulent coat present around it.
