 {2}^{2a}  -  {2}^{a + 3}  +  {2}^{4}  = 0
Let
 {2}^{a}  = t
2) Then,

 {t}^{2}  - 8t + 16 = 0 \\  =  >  {(t - 4)}^{2}  = 0 \\  =  > t = 4 \\  =  >  {2}^{a}  = 4 \\  =  > a = 2
