4/3+2x=40

2x=40-4/3

2x=120-4÷3

2x=116÷3

2x=38.6

x=38.6/2

x=19.3

2( \frac{2}{3}  + x) = 40 \\ 2 ( \frac{2 + 3x}{3} ) = 40\\  \frac{4 + 6x}{3}  = 40 \\ 4 + 6x = 120 \\ 6x = 120 - 4 \\ x =  \frac{116}{6}  = 19.33
