2.2 A) Give scientific reasons :-(Any two)

1. The cells around the stomata are called guard cells because in transpiration process they prevent loss of excess water.

3) Dialysis is done if the kidneys are not functioning well because in body after digestion, respiration etc, there is production of wastes. Kidneys help in the excretion of of urea in the body in the form of urine. if these are damaged then to remove such wastes dialysis is done.

1. The working together of various organs in an organism to produce a proper response to a stimulus is called coordination.

2.Xylem is one of the two types of transport tissue in vascular plants, the other being phloem. The basic function of xylem is to transport water from roots to stems and leaves, but it also transports nutrients.The xylem, vessels and tracheids of the roots, stems and leaves are interconnected to form a continuous system of water-conducting channels reaching all parts of the plants. The system transports water and soluble mineral nutrients from the roots throughout the plant. It is also used to replace water lost during transpiration and photosynthesis.
