Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The pocket money of Madhav and Radha are in the ratio 5 : 7. If the pocket money of both

The pocket money of Madhav and Radha are in the ratio 5 : 7. If the pocket money of bothof them is increased by 225, the new ratio will be 3 : 4

To find:-

Find the original pocket money each

Find the original pocket money eachof them had.

Solution:-

The ratio of the pocket money of Madhav and Radha =5:7

Let they be 5x and 7x

The pocket money of Madhav be 5x

The pocket money of Radha be 7x

If the both pocket moneys are increased by 225 then

Madhav's pocket money will be 5x+225

and Radha's pocket money will be 7x+225

Their ratio=3:4

=>5x+225:7x+225=3:4

=>(5x+225)/(7x+225)=3/4

Applying cross multiplication then

=>3(7x+225)=4(5x+225)

=>21x+675=20x+900

=>21x-20x=900-675

=>x=225

If x=225 then 5x=5×225=1125

7x=7×225=1575

Answer:-

The pocket money of Madhav =Rs. 1125

The pocket money of Radha =Rs. 1575
