Answer:

2.25 kg tomatoes cost Rs. 19.35

so cost of 1 kg = 19.35 ÷ 2.25 = 8.6 Rs

Mrs. sharma buys 3.75 kg so cost of 3.75 kg of tomatoes = 3.75 × 8.6 = Rs 32.25

She gives a note of Rs. 50 to the shopkeeper

so the change that she will get back = 50 - 32.25 = Rs. 17.75

Mrs Sharma will get ₹17.75 as change.

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the cost of 3.75 kg tomatoes, we need the cost of 1 kg tomato.

Since,

2.25 kg tomatoes = Rs. 19.35

By Unitary method:

1 kg = [tex]\frac{19.35}{2.25} \\ [/tex] = Rs.\ 8.6

To buy, 3.75 kg tomatoes:

= cost of 1kg tomato * 3.75kg

= 8.6 * 3.75 = Rs.\ 32.25

Mrs Sharma pays the shopkeeper ₹50,

Change Mrs Sharma will get = Amount paid - Cost of tomatoes.

Change Mrs Sharma will get = ₹50 - ₹32.25

Change Mrs Sharma will get = ₹17.75
