A micro-manometer consists of two cylindrical bulbs A and B each 1000
sq.mm cross-sectional area which are connected by a U-tube with vertical
limbs each of 25 sq.mm cross-sectional area. A liquid of specific gravity 12
is filled in A and another liquid of specific gravity 0.9 is filled in B, the
surface of separation being in the limb attached to B. Find the displacement
of the surface of separation when the pressure on the surface in B is greater
than that in A by an amount equal to 15 mm head of water.
