To find : sum of rational numbers \frac{2}{3} + \frac{4}{5} + \frac{7}{15} + \frac{11}{20}

Solution:

  • As per given condition we write , \frac{2}{3} + \frac{4}{5} + \frac{7}{15} + \frac{11}{20}
  • To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 60
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get ,

         \frac{2}{3}+\frac{4}{5} + \frac{7}{15} + \frac{11}{20}  \\=\frac{2 \times 20}{60}+\frac{4\times 12}{60}+ \frac{7 \times 4}{60}+ \frac{11\times 3}{60}  \\= \frac{40 + 48 + 28 + 33}{60} \\= \frac{149}{60}  \\= 2.48

Hence, sum of \frac{2}{3} + \frac{4}{5} + \frac{7}{15} + \frac{11}{20} is \frac{149}{60} or 2.48 .

  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

    Given data:-\frac{2}{3}+\frac{4}{5}+\frac{7}{15}+\frac{11}{20}..

     To find:- the value of given expression.

      Solution:-

  •  We will take the LCM of the denominators, and make denominators the same.
  •  We will Convert the given fractions to equivalent fractions with the denominator as the LCM.
  • Adding the numerators over the denominators.

        Therefore,

        =\frac{2}{3}+\frac{4}{5}+\frac{7}{15}+\frac{11}{20}\\=\frac{2\times20+4\times12+7\times4+11\times3}{60} \\=\frac{149}{60}.

 Hence, the value will be \frac{149}{60.}
