\bigstar They are bean shaped organs. They are reddish brown colour. They are 10-12 cm long, 5-7 cm wide and 2-3 cm thick. In human the right kidney is at lower than the left one because right side liver lobe is present.

Ureter

\bigstar The ureters are 25-30 cm long,They are thick walled slender tubes. They are lined with transitional epithelium. They help in transporting urine from kidney to urinary bladder.

Urinary bladder

\bigstar It is single, pyriform bag. They can contain 300 - 800 ml of urine. They are lined with stratified transitional epithelium.

Sphincter

\bigstar They are circular muscles. They avoid back flow of urine.

Urethra

\bigstar It is a tube emerging from urinary bladder to release urine. They have sphincter at both ends.
