Some apllications of Newton's Second law of motion :

1. A cricket player lowers his hands while catching the ball to reduce the velocity of the ball to zero.

2. A karate player breaks the pile of tiles or bricks with a single blow. As time to strike is less results for large force to exert on the pile.
