Let, the number be x. 
ATQ, x - 2x/3 = 20 
⇒ ( 3x - 2x ) / 3 = 20
⇒ x = 60 ( Ans ) 


So, the original = 60 

Check :-

60 - 2/3 of 60 = 20
⇒ 20 = 20 
⇒ LHS = RHS 
Hence, proved that the answer is correct.
