Good morning everyone. I am going to express my views on ‘Say No To Plastic’. Who had thought plastic would one day become such an unmanageable problem for the entire world? Plastic is problematic! Its use in almost everything has led to such humongous piles of indecomposable waste matter that it has created real hell of debris on land and in water. The water bodies and the aquatic flora and fauna have been affected the most.
A walk along any river, lake, and beach is sufficient to know the consequences of this ubiquitous ugliness floating. According to Ocean Crusaders, an organization dedicated to fighting plastic pollution 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. According to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, plastic debris kills an estimated 100,000 marine mammals annually, as well as millions of birds and fishes. Cattle also become victims of plastic as they swallow it from the heaps of garbage lying in cities or garbage yards. Scientists in their recent research have found plastic to be much more toxic than previously expected. Plastic is making our environment highly toxic.
The need of the hour is to replace plastic with environmental friendly materials. All of us need to join our hands to fight this menace and preserve our beautiful environment. We must stop using plastic altogether. Paper bags or cloth bags should be used in place of polythene bags. The governments of various nations, including our national Government have launched anti-plastic campaigns. We can make these campaigns by saying ‘NO TO PLASTIC’. Let’s use environment friendly materials such as paper, jute, etc. and clear our planet of the evil of plastic.

I, Monika, a student of class nine, stand upon here to deliver a speech on the topic 'replacement of plastic bags'.
We are going on hearing everyday from our elders, teachers, parents and friends that our Earth is in great danger and it's all because of pollution caused by humans. Humans has polluted the environment so much that our Earth is on the way of destruction.
One major factor leading to pollution is the use of plastics. Plastics never degrades. It stays forever. Tons and tons of plastics are used by us everyday. Even if we burn plastics, harmful gases are released which causes global warming. The gases also causes diseases like skin cancers, respiratory problems, etc.
So, it is very necessary to ban the use of plastics. Government should take strict policies regarding the ban of plastic. Let us all stop using plastics and use recyclable products like paper, jute, etc.
