Given:

mass of oxygen = 2.4g

To Find:

mass of CaCO3 that contains 2.4g of oxygen.

Solution:

molar mass of CaCO3 = 100g

100g of CaCO3 contains 48 g of oxygen

1 g of oxygen → \dfrac{100}{48} g of CaCO3

2.4 g of oxygen → \dfrac{100 \times 2.4}{48} g of CaCO3

= 5g of CaCO3 contains 2.4 g of oxygen.
