multiply both numerator and denominator by the conjugate of the

denominator ie √5 - √3

2(√5-√3)/(√5 + √3)(√5 -√3)

=> 2(√5 -√3)/(5-3)

=> 2(√5 -√3)/2

=> √5 - √3
