Step-by-step explanation:

Method 1

Let the fraction of students those who like banana be x

we know that when we add all the fractions, we get 1

i.e 2/5 + 1/5 + x = 1

=》 2 + 1 + 5x ÷ 5 = 1

=》2 + 1 + 5x = 1 × 5

=》3 + 5x = 5

=》 5x = 5-3

=》 5x = 2

=》 x = 2/5

So 2/5 of 50 students likes banana

Method 2

Students who like Mangoes = 2/5 of 50

= 2/5 × 50

= 20 students

Students who like apples = 1/5 of 50

= 1/5 × 50

= 10 students

So, no. of students out of 50 who like banana is

= 50 - 20 - 10

= 20 students

Fraction of the total number of student who likes banana = 20/50

=2/5 Answer
