Numbers of voters who voted for

P = 0.75 × 0.4x + 0.15 × 0.6x

= 0.3x + 0.09x = 0.39x

Number of voters who voted for

Q = 0.85 × 0.6x + 0.25 × 0.4x

= 0.51x + 0.1x = 0.16x

Given, 0.16x – 0.39x = 44

=> 0.22x = 44

=> 44/0.22 = 4400/22 = 200.
