Let the total no. of students be x

number of students who come by car = 2x/5

number of students who come by bus = x/4

number of students who come by walk = x - (2x/5 + x/4) = x - 13x/20 = 7x/20

number of students who come by walk on their own = (7x/20)/3 = 224

7x/60 = 224

x = 224×60÷7 = 1920

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of total students be X

thus,

students coming by car =2X/5

students coming by bus =X/4

students coming by walking on their own = X/3

Now,

X/3=224

=>X=224×3=672

so total number of students=672

students coming by car = 2X/5 = 2×672/5 = 268

students coming by bus = X/4 = 672/4= 168

students escorted by parents=
