Solution:

To find the greater fraction first make there denominators equal,

$\[ \Rightarrow \frac{2}{5} \times \frac{7}{7}\,or\,\frac{4}{7} \times \frac{5}{5}\]$

$\[ \Rightarrow \frac{{14}}{{35}}\,or\,\frac{{20}}{{35}}\]$

understand that, since the denominators of the fraction are equal therefore the one having greater numerator is greater.

Hence, $\[\frac{4}{7}\]$ is greater than the $\[\frac{2}{5}\]$.
