  • If the selling price of the object is greater than the cost price of the object, profit is achieved and the profit is found out by subtracting the cost price of the object from the selling price of the object. Now, finding the equivalent profit when the cost price is Rs. 100 is called the profit percentage.

According to the given information, Shobha and Masood bought the car at a price of 250000/- hence the cost price is 250000/- and the selling price that is given in the problem is 262500/-.

Then, the profit = Selling price - cost price = 262500 - 250000 = 12500/-

Now, if Masood had given x/-, then according to the problem, Shobha had given 15x parts of the cost price.

Now, 15x + x = 12500

Or, x = \frac{12500}{16}=781.25

Then, Shobha will get (15 × 781.25) = 11718.75/-

Hence, Masood will get 781.25/- and Shobha will get 11718.75/-.
