The series is 2, 6, 20, 42, 110, 156

Step-by-step explanation:

The numbers are the square of the prime numbers, i.e., 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13…… minus the prime number  itself

Thus;

For the prime number 2;

(2 x 2) – 2 = 4 – 2 = 2

This is the first number in the series.

Furthermore,

(3 x 3) – 3 = 9 – 3 = 6, i.e., second number in the series

(5 x 5) – 5 = 25 – 5 = 20, i.e., third number in the series

(7 x 7) – 7 = 49 – 7 = 42. i.e., missing and fourth number in the series

(11 x 11) – 11 = 121 – 11 = 110, i.e., fifth number in the series

(13 x 13) -13 = 169 – 13 = 156, i.e., sixth number in the series

Thus, the series is 2, 6, 20, 42, 110, 156
