Well the given series has two simple pattern-

First solution-

4,7,13,_

7= 4+3

13= 7+6

So the general term of the series would be

=> X= Y+(Y-1)

Where X is the nth term of the series and Y is the (n-1)th term of the series. Or Y is the preceding term and X is the term which we have to find.

Hence the next number of the series is-

=> X= 13+12

=> X= 25

OR

Second solution-

The difference between the two consecutive numbers is in the form of 3*(n-1) where n is the number of digit which we have to find.

Hence the next digit according to this method would be-

=> X= Y+3*(n-1)

=> X= 13+3*(4–1)

=> X= 13+9

=> X= 22
