Given - Amount of aluminium - 2.7 gram
Find - Amount of oxygen with which given amount of aluminium will react.
Solution - Chemical equation representing the reaction of aluminium and oxygen is -
4Al + 3O2 → 2Al2O3
Here, 4 moles of aluminium react with 3 moles of oxygen.
Number of moles of aluminium present - 2.7/27
Number of moles of aluminium - 0.1
4 moles of aluminium react with 3 moles
0.1 moles of aluminium will react with = 3/4*0.1 = 0.075 moles of oxygen.
Converting moles of oxygen to its amount = 0.075*32 = 2.4 gram.
Hence, option b) 2.4 gram is the correct answer.
