2+8+9=10 .

2 (two) + 9 (nine) + 8 (eight)

= t + n + e

= t + e + n

= 10 (ten)

Therfore, 10 should be the answer.

Edit 1 : Just because there are numbers involved, it does not necessarily mean that it will be a maths problem. So, all we need to do is find out a logic that helps us validate the first equation and then apply the same logic to second equation to find out the answer.
