Skull is a set of bones that make up head of vertebra and keep in place all body parts in the head. The delicate organ which skull protects is brain. The other name for skull is cranium. Skull is made up of 22 bones. Human skull is apparently symmetrical. The average thickness of skull of men is 6.5. millimetres and average thickness of skull of women is 7.1 millimetres. All the bones of skull are immovable except the lower jaw. The weight of normal brain is 1300 grams to 1400 grams. The weight of newborn baby is 350 grams to 400 grams.
