(1) (i) Calculate the pressure exerted by the wooden block
when it is kept in the vertical position. [Fig. (a)]
Given : The length of the wooden block is 80 cm, the
breadth is 50 cm. the thickness is 20 cm and the weight is
500 N
(ii) Also calculate the pressure when the wooden block is
kept in the horizontal position with its surface
80 cm x 50 cm touching the floor. [Fig. (b)]​
